Tamashi West is an Albuquerque restaurant serving sushi, ramen and Japanese plates. The website says it is one of two Tamashi locations in the city. Check the fish first, because reviewers split on it.
The website names Tonkotsu Ramen, the Crispy Dragon Roll and the Tamashi Bento Box among its favorites. It also lists nigiri, hand rolls, sake and desserts. The company says its ingredients are bought fresh each day.
The tagline calls it a sushi house first, with sashimi, nigiri and rolls at the center. Ramen comes in spicy and pork broth versions.
Tamashi West holds a 4.7 rating from 478 Google reviews. Several reviewers describe the staff as friendly and polite. The ramen draws both strong praise and sharp complaints.
The sushi divides opinion most. Some reviewers call it fresh and solid. Others question its freshness and its value for the price.
Tamashi West opens at 12 pm and closes at 9 pm, seven days a week. Albuquerque averages 11.8 inches of precipitation and 12.6 inches of snow a year, per NOAA normals for 1991 to 2020. About 76% of homes in the city heat with utility gas, per the American Community Survey.
For a party of six or more, the website states that tables can be booked online through OpenTable.

Haven’t been here a while used to be pretty good. Of course, menu prices went up, but so does every restaurant right now that’s not a problem, but the majority of their sushi is filled with spicy tuna or would I like to call fish hamburger to save costs. The table was also very sticky to the touch. For the prices, they should be more attentive. Seems like a lot of restaurants are cutting corns to try to survive. I can’t hate. If you want really good sushi go to Japanese kitchens. I won’t return here.
The suishi at Tamashi West was not as fresh and great as at Tamashi.
My first time eating Ramen and it was amazingly delicious.
